Views from a Speeding Train

The paintings in “Views from a Speeding Train” derived from my first trip to Europe in 2006 where I exhibited in Berlin before travelling via Eurail throughout France, Spain and Italy as well as to Amsterdam and London.

Travelling by very fast train between cities and art museums was a new experience. Face pressed against glass views, trying to take photos of the landscape, images blurred by the speed of the trains were enticing and gave me imagery to explore after my return home, leading to this series of work.
