Welcome to the website of Australian Artist Amanda van Gils.

I am interested in how our internal world impacts our interpretation of the outer world. The subconcious, mindset, neuroscience, morphic resonance are all of interest to me, as are formal considerations of picture making, beauty and complexity.

My interests and my personal responses to the beauty found in ordinary landscape are at the core of my paintings and drawings.

While I draw on my own personal responses, the subject matter remains universal, and the ‘ah-ha’ moment of recognition when a viewer links the image to their own experiences is a moment I never cease to be delighted by.
